If the court has issued a protection order against violence and the perpetrator has violated this order, he or she may become criminally responsible.

To be held liable under the  Criminal Code, the perpetrator does not have to commit an actual act of violence, but if the perpetrator violates any of the restrictions or obligations set out by the decision on protection against violence, then it is considered a crime. For example, if the perpetrator comes closer to the victim’s residence than the distance specified in the court’s decision.
