The necessity for continued involuntary placement must be regularly reviewed.
In Bulgaria, the compulsory placement for assessment can last up to 30 days. In case this is not sufficient for the assessment to be completed it can be prolonged with up to 30 days by the court following the same procedure as the initial placement. No review during this time is provided for in the law.
