What conditions must be provided and how should you be treated during detention in an asylum context?

If you are detained by the police, you can be held in a temporary place of detention only for a short period of time before you are transferred to the State border guards. As your stay there will be very short, this section will not focus on the conditions in a temporary place of detention at the police department.

When detained by the State Agency for Refugees, you should be placed in special premises or a special closed-type centre.

You have the right to humane conditions in the place where you are being held, medical help, as well as the right to communicate with the outside world.

About this section
