Time limits & Procedures

If you choose to use your victim’s rights, you must comply with all the time limits and procedures set by the court or by law.

example If you want to submit an appeal, you must do it within 15 days of receiving the full judgement of the court of first instance.

Contact address

You also have an obligation to provide the investigator, the prosecutor or the court with an address, which can be used to reach you. You must be reachable at the address you provide, otherwise you won’t be able to complain when you have not received information sent to that address. For example, if you have missed a court hearing because you hadn’t received the court’s notification about the dispensary hearing which was sent to your address, you won’t be able to claim that your rights were violated.
