How do you complain about mistreatment in the investigation arrest and ask for compensation?

Right to complain

You have the right to complain if you believe that you have been mistreated by the staff or other inmates during your detention on remand. You can read more about mistreatment and the consequences of certain behaviour.

Where to submit the complaint?

You can complain about mistreatment by guards or other inmates to the Prosecutor’s Office. You can also complain to the head of the Chief Directorate for Execution of Punishments.

Decision & Appeal

You have the right to receive a written response to your complaint. If you are not satisfied with the decision of the prosecutor, you can complain to the higher prosecutor. You have the right to receive a response from the head of the Chief Directorate for Execution of Punishments.

Compensation

If you believe that your rights were violated due to mistreatment in the investigation prison, you can also request compensation either in the framework of the criminal proceedings against the perpetrators or separately through civil action.
