How to appeal a decision to apply restrictive measures?

The decision to use restrictive measures must be made by a doctor. If you believe that the restrictive measures were not necessary in your situation or that they were applied too restrictively, you can complain to the Healthcare Inspectorate as explained in the Health Act. The Healthcare Inspectorate has to consider your complaint within 7 days. After the check you must be informed about the results within 3 days. The Inspectorate may sanction the doctors if it found a violation.

You can complain also to a court of general jurisdiction and request compensation for the damages you suffered because of the restrictive measures if they were applied in breach with the law.
