Single Step’s mission is to help LGBTI (“Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex”) youth, their families, friends and allies in Bulgaria in the process of recognising, coming out and affirming their sexual orientation and gender identity.

How can it help you

Online Chat and Phone Helpline

You can receive anonymous and confidential support every day from 20:00 to 23:00 in the evening through the organisation’s online chat. During the rest of the day, you can leave a chat message. If you prefer to talk over the phone, instead of writing, you can call +359 800 900 18 every Wednesday from 17:00 to 20:00.

Support Group

You can also join a support group (for now only in Sofia) for LGBTI youth who are going through or already have gone through the process of accepting their sexual orientation / gender identity. The main purpose of the groups is to have members (no more than 8) meet at a regulated time and to discuss their experiences, share ideas and provide emotional support to one another. The meetings are led by a trained facilitator. Single Step also works with a network of trained psychologists familiar with the experiences of LGBTI people from Sofia, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Kardzhali, Bourgas, Varna, Rousse and Pleven.
