You have a list of obligations during the asylum procedure.

According to the Asylum Procedures Directive and the Asylum and Refugees Act, you have an obligation to cooperate with the competent authorities for the processing of your asylum application. You are required:

  • to submit all documents in your possession and other evidence which are relevant to the proceedings
  • not to leave the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria
  • to move only within the region you are allocated to (if you do not hold permit by the State Agency for Refugees allowing you to leave the region)
  • not to change you address or to file a request for an address change in case you want you change your place of residence
  • to comply with the internal order of the transit or reception centres
  • to stay outside the border zone of the State (if you do not hold a permit)
  • to enable the examination of your personal effects and your person, and the admission for deposit of documents and personal effects
  • to cooperate in obtaining documents in evidence of the circumstances presented in your application for international protection
  • to enable the examination of your state of health in case of public health considerations – when you are accommodated in a transit or a registration reception centre
  • to enable photographing and fingerprinting
  • to cooperate in the collection of information needed for identification and verification of your person
  • to comply with the surveillance measures provided by law
  • to appear at the State Agency for Refugees when you received a written invitation for an interview (exactly on the indicated date and on time)
  • to appear at the State Agency for Refugees for receiving a decision

During the asylum procedure, you are not allowed to leave the country where you are applying for international protection. You are required to deposit your passport or other national identity documents to the State Agency for Refugees
